Tighten the flywheel housing bolts to a torque of 52-67 ft.lbs. (70-90 N-m).

Reinstall the transmission. Refer to the XR4Ti Shop Manual, Section 16-33 for installation details, Figure 3.

ISSUE:

Transmission fluid leakage at the countershaft bore area may be caused by too much clearance between the bore of the transmission case
and the countershaft.

ACTION:

Install a new metal gasket between the flywheel housing and the transmission case to prevent fluid leakage. Refer to the following
procedure for service details.

1.

Remove the transmission. Refer to the XR4Ti Shop Manual, Section 16-33 for service details.
