OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM M56 TECHNICAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS. CIRCULATE THEM TO YOUR PARTS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL. QUESTIONS SHOULD BE
DIRECTED TO YOUR SERVICE ZONE MANAGER.
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS
For Vehicles Equipped With 3.0L Engines (Taurus/Sable)
1.
Refer to Exhibit I. Replace the two heater inlet hoses.
2.
Check and add coolant as necessary.
For Vehicles Equipped With 3.8L Engines (Thunderbird/Cougar, Mustang/Capri, LTD Marquis)
1.
Refer to Exhibit II. Replace the heater inlet hose and water bypass hose.
2.
Check and add coolant as necessary.
For Vehicles Equipped With 3.0L Engines (Aerostar)
1.
Refer to Exhibit III. Replace one heater inlet hose.
2.
Check and add coolant as necessary.
PARTS ORDERING INFORMATION
Parts for this program must be ordered through normal channels.
LABOR OPERATIONS
CLAIMS PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS (A copy of these instructions should be placed in Subject 5.5 of your-Warranty and Policy Manual).

Repairs provided under this program will be performed at no charge to owners during the basic vehicle warranty coverage (12-months from the
in-service date or 12,000-miles of service, whichever comes first) or through July 31, 1988, whichever provides the greater coverage. Repairs
required after these time limitations will not be covered under this program, but will be the owners' responsibility.

Claim forms 1863 for this program must include standard claim preparation procedures and the information shown. Program number M56 must be
entered in the Program Code box in the upper left of the forms.
Refunds
Refund requests submitted under Owner Notification Program M56 are governed by the following guidelines:

Owners seeking refund for repairs covered by this program, which were performed at their expense prior to the announcement of this program must
present their paid repair orders or invoices to any Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealership by July 31, 1988.

Refunds include return of any deductible amount owners may have paid.
A copy of the paid repair orders or parts purchase receipts must be retained in your service file for at least one year following the date of Company
notification of payment.
Owner refund requests must be submitted on separate warranty claim Forms 1863 by July 31, 1988. Claims submitted after that date will not be paid. In
addition to the information shown for the special preparation of Owner Refund claims (Reference: Warranty and Policy Manual - Subject 6.1, Page 18),
