1.
Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2.
Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove oil dipstick.
3.
Remove accessory drive belts, then timing belt as described under TIMING BELT.
4.
Raise and support vehicle. On models with low oil sensor, remove retainer clip at sensor, then disconnect sensor electrical connector, Fig. 19.
5.
Drain crankcase.
6.
Remove starter motor, then disconnect Heater Exhaust Gas Oxygen (HEGO) sensor electrical connector.
7.
Remove catalyst and pipe assembly.
