Set the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on No. 1 cylinder.
a.
Ensure that the "white" mark on the crankshaft damper aligns with the 0° index on the lower timing belt cover, Figure 2.
b.
Be sure that the marks on the intake camshaft pulleys align with the index marks on the timing belt cover, Figure 3.
8.
Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
9.
Remove the RH front wheel and tire assembly.
10.
Loosen the fender splash shield and place it out of the way.
11.
Remove the plastic door in the lower timing belt cover to gain access to the timing belt tensioner assembly.
12.
Loosen the 14 mm locknut on the timing belt tensioner.
