This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act of Canada.
Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited (Ford) has determined that certain 1992 Model Year Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Taurus, Tempo and
Topaz vehicles fail to conform the Canada Motor Vehicles Safety Standard No. 208, "Seat Belt Installations". The serial number of your vehicle is
shown above your name and address on this letter.
Non-Compliance:
Canada Motor Vehicles Safety Standard (CMVSS) No. 208 requires the vehicle manufacturer to have the "Air Bag Warning Instruction" label
information in both English and French. The label installed on your vehicle is in English only.
Corrective Action:
To correct this condition, please affix the enclosed French "Air Bag Warning Instruction" label onto the headliner behind the sunvisor, on the driver's
side. Please follow the enclosed application instructions. If you prefer, your Ford or Mercury dealer will affix the label for you at no charge.
Call Your Dealer:
If you prefer that your dealer affix the label, call your dealer and ask for a service date. Take this letter and label with you to the dealer. If you lose the
letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge. However, if you present your vehicle without the label, the dealer will have to order a label and
another service appointment will be necessary.
The time needed by the dealer to install the label is less than an hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your vehicles for
one full working day.
If you have leased this vehicle to another person or organization, please immediately notify the lessee of this recall and proved the lessee the enclosed "
Air Bag Warning Instructions" Label.
Changed Your Name, Address, Or Sold The Vehicle?
If you have changed your name or address, or have sold the vehicle, please complete the enclosed prepaid postcard. Sign and date it, and mail the card to
Ford.
Contact the Ford "Customer Assistance Centre" at the address identified in the letterhead of this letter if any further assistance is required. Please identify
your vehicle's serial number in any correspondence.
