ISSUE:
If removal of the rear planetary support retaining ring is necessary when performing a transaxle service, proper retaining ring installation procedures
must be followed or damage to the transaxle case where the retaining ring is located will occur.

ACTION:
During the reassembly procedure of a transaxle, locate the rear planetary support retaining ring gap at the bottom of the case and align it with the rear
lube passage (as shown in Figure 1). The gap will then appear in the 6 o'clock position when viewed from the open end of the case. This procedure will
ensure that the axial thrust load is distributed uniformly among the case spline teeth.
