Using two (2) jumper wires, supply battery voltage to the terminal marked "A" and battery ground to the terminal marked "B". See Figure 2.

If the cooling fan operates normally when power and ground are supplied, go to Circuit Breaker Module Installation.

5.

If the cooling fan does not operate normally when power and ground are supplied, go to Cooling Fan and Shroud Assembly Replacement.

Circuit Breaker Module Installation

Taurus/Sable 3.0L

NOTE:

If the vehicle is equipped with the jumper harness installed as part of Safety Recall 97S66 or 95S22, it will be removed and discarded. See Figure 3.

1.

Record radio preset stations, then disconnect the battery negative cable.

2.

Remove and discard the jumper harness (installed as part of Safety Recall 97S66 or 95S22), if equipped.

3.

Install the nut removed with the jumper harness back onto the left side of the cooling fan and shroud assembly and tighten the nut to 3 Nm (28
lb-in).

CAUTION: When securing the circuit breaker module (CBM) to the fan shroud with the tie strap, be sure to wrap the tie strap around two (2) fan
supports only and NOT a fan blade.
