Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair
Rear Seats
NOTE: Seat Belt Bolt Bit T77L-2100-A (No.50 TORX) should be used for safety belt removal and installation.
REMOVAL
1. Remove rear seat cushion.
2. Remove rear seat back. Make sure the rear seat shoulder strap guide is opened on vehicles equipped with head restraint.
3. Remove panel and quarter trim panel.
4. Remove safety belt anchor plate-to-sill bolt.
5. Snap out rear safety belt opening bezel in package tray trim panel.
6. Remove rear hi-mount lamp.
7. Remove package tray trim panel.
8. Remove retractor anchor bolt and retractor screw.
9. Remove anchor plate end of safety belt through the opening in the quarter trim panel and the package tray trim panel.
10. Remove outboard rear safety belt retractor and tongue assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse removal procedure.
2. Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted. If it is, remove the twist.
3. Tighten retractor screw to 22-34 Nm (16-25 lb ft). Tighten retractor anchor bolt and safety belt anchor plate-to-sill bolt to 30-40 Nm (22-30 lb ft).
4. Check the restraint system for proper operation.
