Fuel Gauge Sender: Description and Operation
With Digital Instrument Cluster
DESCRIPTION
As the amount of fuel in the fuel tank decreases, resistance of the Fuel Gauge Sender decreases. Resistance will be approximately 170 ohms with a
full tank and 10 ohms with an empty tank. The twelve segment bar graph Fuel Level Gauge responds to the change in resistance by increasing or
decreasing the number of segments that light up. A shorted or open Sender will cause the top two and bottom two bars to light up, and the legend
and ISO indicator will be off.
