Taurus V6-195 3.2L DOHC SHO (1994)
Camshaft: Service and Repair
1. Place engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) on No. 1 cylinder.
2. Remove valve covers.
3. Remove timing belt.
4. Remove camshaft pulleys, noting location of dowel pins.
5. Remove upper rear timing belt cover.
6. Loosen camshaft bearing caps uniformly.
CAUTION: Camshaft damage may result if bearing caps are not loosened uniformly.
7. Remove bearing caps, noting their position for proper installation.
8. Remove camshaft chain tensioner attaching bolts, then remove camshaft together with chain and tensioner.
9. Remove and discard oil seal.
10. Remove chain sprocket from camshaft.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. When installing chain sprockets, align timing marks on sprockets with camshaft as shown.

b. Align white painted link with timing mark on sprocket.
c. Rotate camshaft approximately 60 degrees counterclockwise and install chain tensioners.
NOTE: Lefthand and righthand chain tensioners are not interchangeable.
d. Lubricate camshaft journals with suitable lubricant.
