Seat Belt Reminder Lamp: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, the safety belt warning indicator on the instrument panel will illuminate for approximately
six seconds. During this six second period, the safety belt warning chime will also sound if the driver's safety belt is not engaged.
OPERATION
When the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position, power is supplied through Circuit 640 to the warning chime module. The warning chime
module supplies power to illuminate the safety belt warning indicator through Circuit 450. The warning chime module goes to ground through the
safety belt switch Circuit 85. When the safety belt is engaged, the ground circuit to warning chime module is opened.
