Follow the smaller gauge black wire, which is part of the negative battery cable connector, along the inner fender, disengaging the Christmas tree
retainer(s) as required, to the wiring connector and attaching ground eyelet (Figure 2).

Disconnect the connector and remove the screw attaching the ground eyelet. Installation torque of eyelet screw is 3.4-4.8 N-m (30-42 lb.in.).

In front of the battery area, remove the screw attaching the wire harness retaining bracket to radiator support (Figure 3). Installation torque of
retaining bracket screw is 3.9-4.8 N-m (35-42 lb.in.).

At back of generator, pull back protective cap from eyelet.

Remove nut attaching the black/orange wire. Replacement nut is N805320-S36. Installation torque of nut is 7.0-9.0 N-m, (62-80 lb.in.).
NOTE:
DISCARD "OLD" NUT USED TO SECURE WIRING TO GENERATOR. DO NOT USE "OLD" NUT.

At power distribution box, remove stud protective cover and the nut retaining wire eyelet and black/orange wire. Installation torque of nut is
4.0-5.6 N-m (35-50 lb.in.).
