Suspension Strut / Shock Absorber: Service and Repair
Coil Spring/Strut Service
1. Remove strut assembly from vehicle.
2. Remove link attaching nut, washer and insulator, then the link from the strut.
3. Mark location of insulator to top mount. Place strut, spring and upper mount assembly in suitable spring compressor, then compress spring.
4. While preventing strut shaft from turning with a 10 mm six point deep well socket on top of shaft, remove mounting nut with oxygen sensor
wrench tool T94P-9472-A, or equivalent.
NOTE: If strut is to be used again, do not use vise grips or pliers to hold strut shaft as damage will result.
