When replacing power steering hoses, verify the following:
1.
Be sure that the proper service kit is used for replacement of the power steering hoses and heat shield. Refer to the Parts Block in this article for
correct parts usage.
2.
Check to see that the power steering lines are routed correctly between the EGR tube and transmission dipstick, with adequate clearance to all heat
sources.
3.
Be sure the power steering pump outlet fittings are replaced with new outlet fittings (1988 and 1989 model years).
4.
Be certain that all parts in the service kit are used and that the detailed step-by-step service instructions enclosed in the kit are followed.
Refer to the Instruction Sheets in kits # 1 through 7.
