Taurus V6-232 3.8L (1989)
CAUTION: Use caution when removing spring. Also, place a piece of cardboard or suitable material under prying tool to prevent damage to the
housing gasket surface.
8. Remove outside vane support retaining pin, then the metal 0-ring retainer and 0-ring from outer vane support. Discard 0-ring.
9. Remove and discard side seal.
10. Remove side seal support, then the top vane positioning ring and outer vane support.
11. Remove seven vanes from rotor, then the inner vane support.
12. Remove bottom vane position ring.
ASSEMBLE
CAUTION: The only serviceable parts in the oil pump are the seals. If any other parts of the oil pump are damaged or worn, then entire pump assembly
should be replaced.
1. Install bottom vane positioning ring.
2. Install inner vane support with small inside diameter counterbore facing up.
3. Install seven vanes in inner vane support with shiny portion of vane blade facing toward outer vane support.
4. Install outer vane support, then the top vane positioning ring.
5. Install new side seal support, then the new side seal.
6. Install outer vane support retaining ring.
7. Install bore spring between case and tab on outer vane support.
8. Install new 0-ring in groove in outer vane support, then the metal 0-ring retainer.
9. Install oil pump cover on oil pump housing, then the oil pump cover attaching bolts. Torque bolts.
10. Install 1-2 capacity modulator valve spring, valve, and plug bore in pump housing, then the retaining clips.
11. Install check balls and relief valve.
12. Position separator plate on oil pump housing using a new gasket.

13. Install separator plate guide ins T86P-70100-A and T86P-7010 or equivalent as shown in the Oil Pump Body Separator Plate Installation image.
14. Install and torque two Torx bolts, then remove guide pins.
15. Position valve body on oil pump using a new gasket.
