15. Tilt the driver seat towards the rear of the vehicle. Disconnect the ten-pin electrical connector.
16. Attach a driver safety belt pretensioner restraint system diagnostic tool to the ten-pin floor electrical connector.
17. Remove the driver seat from the vehicle.
18. Remove the lower steering column opening cover with reinforcement.

Remove the retaining bolts.

Pull out to release the retaining clips and remove the lower steering column opening cover with reinforcement.
19. Disconnect the four-pin air bag sliding contact electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
20. Attach a restraint system diagnostic tool to the vehicle harness side of the four-pin air bag sliding contact electrical connector.
