Caliper Removal and Installation

Removal and Installation 

1. Remove the wheel and tire assembly. 

2. WARNING:  Use of any other than approved DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid will cause permanent damage to brake components and will

render the brakes inoperative. 

WARNING:  Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If
brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally,
drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. Failure to follow these instructions may lead to personal injury. 

CAUTION:  Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto painted or plastic surfaces, wash it with water
immediately.

Remove the bolt and disconnect the brake hose. Remove and discard the copper washers.

3. Remove the bolts and the brake caliper. Inspect the caliper. If the boot is torn or the caliper is leaking, it must be disassembled. 
4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Use new copper washers.

5. Bleed the brake caliper.

Drain brake fluid from the disc brake caliper.
