Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation
The Injection Pressure Sensor (IPS):

is attached to the fuel injection supply manifold.

uses a replaceable O-ring seal.
^
senses the fuel pressure of the fuel injection supply manifold.
^
is referenced to the intake manifold vacuum.
^
sends electronic signals to the PCM.
