ISSUE:
Some vehicles may exhibit full power assisted steering at all speeds and a stiff suspension at highway speeds. This may be caused by a Vehicle Speed
Sensor (VSS) circuit missing from the semi-active suspension on vehicles with manual air conditioning.
ACTION:
Add the VSS circuit to the wiring harness. The semi-active ride control will operate properly with the addition of the VSS circuit. Refer to the following
Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the instrument panel steering column cover located on the driver side under the steering column. Refer to Page 01-12-23 of the 1996
Taurus Service Manual.
