Removal

WARNING: Do not use any fluid other than clean brake fluid meeting manufacturer's specification. Additionally, do not use brake fluid that
has been previously drained. Following these instructions will help prevent system contamination, brake component damage and the risk of
serious personal injury.

in serious personal injury.

NOTICE: Do not spill brake fluid on painted or plastic surfaces or damage to the surface may occur. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or
plastic surface, immediately wash the surface with water.

1. Remove and discard the brake pads. For additional information, refer to Brake Pads  See: Brake Pad/Service and Repair/Front Disc Brake/Brake

Pads.

2. Remove the brake caliper flow bolt and position the brake hose aside.

Discard the copper washers.

3. Remove the brake caliper.

Installation

1. Clean the residual adhesive from the brake caliper-to-brake pad mating surfaces using brake parts cleaner.

2. NOTICE: Do not allow grease, oil, brake fluid or other contaminants to contact the pad lining material, or damage to components may

occur. Do not install contaminated pads.

NOTE: Install all new hardware as supplied with the brake pad kit.

Install the new spring clips and brake pads to the brake caliper anchor plate.

3. Position the brake hose and install the brake caliper flow bolt.

Install new copper washers.

Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

4. NOTICE: Make sure the caliper pin boots are correctly seated to prevent damage to the guide pins.

NOTICE: Make sure that the brake hose is not twisted when the caliper is positioned on the anchor plate or damage to the hose may
occur.

Position the brake caliper onto the brake caliper anchor plate and install the 2 caliper guide pin bolts.

Tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).

5. Bleed the brakes.

6. Install the wheel and tire.
