PARTS ORDERING:

Service parts required for this recall must be ordered through FIES, Recalls - Wixom and not from Windsor. See ordering instructions in bulletin

LABOR TIMES:

Inspect the fuel injector build date and, if necessary, replace the injector, adjust the idle speed to specification, prepare and attach
an Authorized Modifications (Form FPS-8262) Decal.

When the Injector is NOT replaced

1.1 Hrs.

Insert in Box "B" of Form 1864
(include allowances)

When the Injector IS replaced

1.5 Hrs.

Insert in Box "C" of Form 1864
(include allowances)

Allowances (Additive to Above)

Automatic Transmission Linkage Adjustment ... 0.1 Hr.

Administrative Allowance

0.1 Hr.

The 0.1 hour administrative and automatic transmission adjustment (when applicable) allowances must be added before inserting the total labor
time in either Box "B" or "C" of the form 1864.

REMOVED PARTS RETURN: Mutilate and scrap all removed parts.

FUEL INJECTOR INSPECTION INSTRUCTIONS

Pre-inspection Vehicle Set-Up

Set the parking brake

Wheels straight-forward

^

All accessories turned-off

^

Block the wheels

Check for vacuum leaks and wiggle the electrical connectors

Look at the 8th digit in the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Determine the injector color-code using the chart below:

Locate the fuel injector in the central fuel charging assembly. Remove the electrical connector from the top of the injector.

Injector Visual Check Procedure

Remove the electrical wire harness connector to the fuel injector.

Clean the injector connector shell if necessary.

Use a light or flash light on the flat side of the connector shell to see the injector date code (molded into the connector shell).
