This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to add the 3-digit DTCs for 1992-94 models.
ISSUE:
The Check Engine" Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) may be on intermittently at all ambient temperatures. Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) 327 and
332 (31 and 32 for 1988-91 models) may be stored in continuous memory without noticeable drive symptoms. The MIL activation may also be caused
by water freezing in the Pressure Feedback EGR (PFE) sensor hose at cold ambient temperatures.
ACTION:
Use the following Service Procedure to determine if the PFE EGR system is at fault (hard failure) or water is freezing in the PFE hose and sensor.

Service Procedures
1.
Perform normal diagnosis to be sure that no hard fault is present. Refer to the 1993 Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Service
Manual for MIL lamp concerns. Normal diagnosis should also include checking the following:

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve and passages to be sure they are not plugged with deposits
^
EGR valve to be sure it opens when vacuum is applied to the valve (engine will stall if idling)
^
EGR valve to be sure it is fully closed when vacuum is released
^
Follow vacuum lines and connections for any possible leaks or obstructions, to include:
