ISSUE:
Some vehicles may experience the idle speed fluctuating when coming to a stop after a cold start in ambient temperatures between -1 and 10°C (30 and
50°F). The rpm may fluctuate +/- 70 rpms.
PCM Application Chart
ACTION:
Review TSBs 93-12-6, 93-24-8 and 93-26-6 to eliminate other possible concerns. If concern is still present, replace the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM). The new PCM has a revised operating strategy to reduce the possibility of idle speed fluctuation. Refer to the following PCM Application Chart
and the appropriate year Tempo/Topaz Service Manual for the correct PCM calibration, removal and installation procedures.
