Removal and Installation
1. Disengage rear seat cushion from retainer and position cushion forward to gain access to safety belt retaining bolts.
2. Remove buckle end anchor nuts and remove buckle end belts.
3. Remove rear seat back.
4. Remove safety belt anchor-to-sill bolt.
5. Snap out bezel in package tray trim panel.
6. Remove rear stoplamp assembly.
7. Remove package tray trim panel.
8. Remove retractor anchor bolts and retractor screw.
9. Remove anchor end of webbing through the opening in the package tray trim panel.
10. Remove outboard safety belt assembly from the vehicle.
11. Repeat procedure on opposite side.
12. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
13. Tighten all retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft).
14. Cycle the belt system to ensure proper operation of retractor. Ensure safety belt is not twisted.
Safety Belt Without Anchor Plate Thread Damage
The lap and shoulder safety belts are factory installed in their proper locations. If the belts are removed for any reason, they should be installed using
proper service procedures. The 7/16 x 20 safety seat belt Torx (R) head anchor bolts should be hand started and then tightened to 30-40 Nm (23-29
lb-ft).
1. Remove damaged bolt from anchor reinforcement and discard.
2. Install a new bolt. Tighten to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft).
