the attaching screws.
4. Position lap belt guide to the seat back latch lower cover.
5. Install but do not tighten 1 attaching screw. Install the lap belt webbing through the guide. Be sure the webbing is not twisted and install the
remaining attaching screw and tighten both screws.
6. Cycle the lap safety belt retractor a few times and check the retractor for proper operation.
Shoulder Belt Retractor
Removal and Installation
1. Remove plug button at shoulder belt retainer anchor cover
2. Disconnect shoulder belt anchor at retainer.
3. Remove emergency release lever handles.
NOTE: Relieve pressure of retaining clip on underside of handles, while gently pulling handles off.
4. Remove console retaining screws.
5. Remove armrest, if so equipped.
6. Disengage shoulder harness opening bezel from the console.
7. Remove the retractor.
8. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten retractor to floor brace retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft).
2-Door
Removal
1. Remove rear seat.
2. Remove A-pillar and B-pillar garnish mouldings.
3. Remove quarter panel trim panel and sound deadener.
4. Cycle shoulder belt carrier full forward.
5. Disconnect electrical switch connectors at A-and B-pillars.
6. Remove plug button from shoulder belt anchor cover.
7. Remove Torx (R) head screw retaining shoulder belt anchor to shoulder belt retainer and disconnect shoulder belt anchor.
8. Remove two screws retaining drive belt track to motor.
NOTE: If the vertical guide is being replaced, remove all retaining screws.
9. Remove one screw, adjacent to motor, retaining vertical drive belt guide.
10. Carefully disconnect drive belt track from motor, allowing belt to pass by gear teeth without engagement.
11. Remove screw from A-pillar bracket to A-pillar.
12. Remove two bolts retaining track assembly to B-pillar.
13. Remove two screws retaining track assembly to inner roof rail.
14. Remove screws from overhead track retaining clips.
15. Disengage vertical guide release tab at B-pillar bracket.
16. Rotate track downward to remove track limit switch retaining tab from slot in A-pillar.
17. Remove the track assembly from the vehicle.
