Engine shut down (poor performance) may be caused by the right front fender splash shield insulation being pulled into the air cleaner inlet tube. This
condition is caused by improper installation of the insulation to the splash shield during assembly. To correct this condition, modify the fender splash
shield insulation by removing
a ten-inch wide section of the insulation from the fender splash shield (Figure 4).
