If a battery drain or no start condition is encountered, it may be caused by the glove compartment door not depressing the glove compartment light
switch plunger far enough to shut off the light. To service, add a shim to the glove box as outlined in the following procedure and Figure 6.
1.
Open glove compartment.
2.
Remove (2) buttons from the glove compartment stops allowing glove compartment to rotate outward beyond the normal position.
3.
Fabricate a shim 1/8" thick x 1-1/2" square using a hard material (plastic, metal, etc.) and cement to glove box (rear side) with D7AZ-19B508-A
adhesive or equivalent.
4.
Reposition glove compartment and install (2) buttons retaining stops to glove compartment.
5.
Close glove compartment and verify light is working properly.
