Seat Belt Retractor: Service and Repair
Rear Seat Belt, Retractor and Tongue
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Disengage rear seat cushion, move forward to gain access to rear safety belt anchor nuts.
2. Remove rear safety belt anchor nuts and remove rear safety belt and buckle.
3. Remove rear seat cushion. Remove rear seat back.
4. Remove rear safety belt anchor-to-sill bolt.
5. Remove upper and lower quarter trim panels.
6. Remove push pin retaining rear safety belt retractor cover. Remove bezel and rear safety belt retractor cover.
7. Remove retractor anchor bolt and retractor screw.
8. Remove anchor end of rear safety belt through the opening in the quarter trim panel.
9. Remove outboard rear safety belt retractor and tongue from the vehicle.
10. Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted. If it is, remove the twist.
11. Tighten all anchor bolts and retaining nuts to the required specification for each mounting position.
12. Check the restraint system for proper operation.
