This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to update case and gasket part numbers.
ISSUE:
A new transmission case and main control have been released for service on 1992-95 AODE/4R7OW transmissions.
ACTION:
When servicing a 1992-95 transmission case with a new service part case and/or new main control (refer to the Application Chart), pilot sleeves or new
bolts must be installed to accommodate the new service parts. Refer to the following text for details.
The new transmission case pilot holes (used to align the main control) have been reduced to accommodate the smaller pilot bolts used in the new service
main control.
When servicing a 1992-95 transmission case with a new 1997 case (see Case Application Chart) and reusing the original main control, the pilot bolts
must be replaced with Bolts (N808962-S) and Gasket (F7AZ-7C155-AA).
