Install the front seat back to the front seat cushion. Torque the attaching screws as indicated below:

Inboard pivot - 19-27 N-m (14-20 ft.lbs.).

Seat back latch/adjuster to cushion - 20-43 N-m (15-32 ft.lbs.).

Connect the lumbar support tube at the rear of the seat back.
22.
If the seat is equipped with an inertia seat back latch, check the latch for proper operation (sensitivity test) before installing the seat in the vehicle
as follows:

With the seat and track assembly positioned on a flat surface, grasp the seat cushion only and slowly tilt the seat assembly forward enough to
cause the seat back to tilt forward (via gravity).

The latch should engage at this point (11 degrees from the original position) restricting the seat back from tilting to its full forward position.
23.
Install the seat and track assembly in the vehicle. Refer to installation procedures contained in Group 41 of the 1984 Thunderbird/Cougar Car
Shop Manual as indicated below:

Seats with manual seat tracks - 41-01
^
Seats with power seat tracks - 41-08
24.
Torque the seat track to floor pan attachments to 25-44 N-m (18-32 lb.ft.).
25.
Check the seat tracks for proper operation.
