By-Pass Air (BPA) Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect air bypass valve assembly connector from the wiring harness.

2.

Remove two air bypass valve retaining screws.

3.

Remove air bypass valve and gasket.

INSTALLATION

1.

Ensure that both throttle body and air bypass valve gasket surfaces are clean.

NOTE:  If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage air bypass valve or throttle body gasket surfaces, or drop material into throttle body.

Install gasket on throttle body surface and mount air bypass valve assembly, securing it with two retaining screws. Tighten to 71-97 in lb (8-11
Nm)
.

3.

Connect electrical connector for air bypass valve.
