ISSUE:
On subject vehicles with 75,000 miles (120,000 KMS) or more, the polyester silencer pad in the thermactor air bypass valve may become plugged,
resulting in bypass valve failure which could eventually fail the thermactor air pump.

ACTION:
During routine service of the subject vehicles, it is highly recommended that the thermactor air bypass valve be checked by performing the following
procedure.

1.

Start the vehicle and allow the vehicle to warm up for three (3) minutes.

2.

Place hand over (but do not block off) the dump pads on the side of the air bypass valve body.

3.

Air should be felt. If air flow is not detected, replace the air bypass valve.
