Keyless Entry Module: Testing and Inspection
NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitters from memory when additional keyless entry
remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters
in memory.
To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:
1. Turn ignition switch to RUN or ACC position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector C459 (a two-pin connector is
taped to the wire assembly and can be reached by removing the LH luggage compartment trim panel). The connector is attached to the relay
mounting panel. Both doors should lock and then unlock. Remove shorting pin.
2. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitter. Both doors should lock and then unlock to verify that transmitter has been programmed.
If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same transmitter). If door locks still fail to respond, go to
Symptom Chart. See: Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Keyless Entry/Testing and Inspection/Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
3. Repeat Step 2 to program additional transmitters into the electronic door lock control processor (up to four keyless entry remote transmitters
maximum).
4. Turn ignition switch OFF. All front doors should lock then unlock.
5. Check operation.
