Seat Track: Service and Repair
Manual Seat Track
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the electrical wiring for restraint system and remove front seat.
CAUTION: Use care when handling seat and track assembly. Dropping assembly or sitting on seat not secured in vehicle may result in damaged
components.
2. Place seat and seat track assemblies on a clean work area.
3. Remove seat back assembly with front seat back latch.
4. Remove front seat track-to-front seat cushion frame and spring retaining bolts. Remove seat cushion from the tracks.
5. Separate inboard and outboard front seat track assemblies by removing front seat cushion extension handle.
NOTE: To ease front seat track assist spring removal and installation, adjust outboard front seat track to full forward position.
6. Transfer front seat track lower shield and front seat cushion extension handle to new front seat track assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Mount front seat tracks to front seat cushion frame.
2. Install front seat cushion extension handle to front seat tracks after they are positioned.
3. Install seat track-to-seat frame retaining bolts. Tighten to 12-24 Nm (106-212 lb-in).
4. Install seat back assembly with front seat back latch.
5. Install front safety belt buckle support (including restraint system). Tighten retaining bolts to 30-43 Nm (23-31 lb-ft) and nut and washer
assemblies to 7-11 Nm (62-97 lb-in).
6. Install front seat.
