Thunderbird V8-4.6L VIN W (1997)
NOTE: Replace rear shock absorbers individually as required. They do not need to be replaced in pairs.
INSTALLATION
1. Properly prime the rear shock absorber to remove air from the working cylinder.
2. Place the inner washer and insulator on the upper retaining stud. Position stud through shock tower mounting hole. Compress rear shock absorber
as required and align shock absorber mounting eye for attachment.
3. Attach lower end of rear shock absorber. Install retaining bolt and nut and tighten to 128-172 Nm (95-126 ft. lbs.) while holding nut and turning
bolt.
4. With upper end of the rear shock absorber protruding through the body shock tower hole install the washer and nut assembly.
