Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Front

REMOVAL 

NOTE:  When front disc brake rotor is removed from wheel hub, either for rotor or hub service hub flange must be cleaned with a wire brush of
all dirt or rust. The rotor mating surface must also be cleaned of rust or dirt.

1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove front hub cap grease seal from wheel hub and discard.
4. Remove two bolts from disc brake caliper assembly.
5. Remove disc brake caliper assembly and suspend with wire.

CAUTION:  Do not let disc brake caliper assembly hang by the front brake hose.

6. Mark front disc brake rotor and lug bolt to assure parts are reinstalled indexed in the same relative position (match mounted). Remove factory

push-on nuts, if installed. Remove front disc brake rotor.

7. Remove front axle wheel hub retainer and discard.
8. Remove wheel hub. If assembly cannot be removed by hand, use Front Hub Remover/Replacer T81P-1104-C.

INSTALLATION 

1. Clean spindle stem, including wheel bearing grease seal area.
2. Install wheel hub assembly.
3. Install new front axle wheel hub retainer and tighten to 255-345 Nm (188-254 ft. lbs.). 
4. Install front disc brake rotor and push-on nuts. Make sure front disc brake rotor mark lines up with wheel hub bolt mark.
5. Install new front hub cap grease seal. Use appropriate tool so as not to damage or distort front hub cap grease seal.
6. Position disc brake caliper assembly on front wheel spindle.
7. Install front disc brake caliper retaining bolts. Tighten to 132 Nm (97 ft. lbs.).
