Flexible Coupling – Steering Column – Remove and Install (13 566 0)

Transit 1995 (08/1994-07/2000)

Removal and Installation

Remove

1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.

2. Centralise the steering wheel and lock in the straight ahead position.

3. Remove the clamp plate bolt securing the steering column shaft to the flexible coupling.

Rotate the clamp plate to disengage.

4. Remove the flexible coupling from the pinion shaft.

Install

CAUTION:

Ensure that the steering is in the straight ahead position.

5. Engage the flexible coupling onto the pinion shaft.

Ensure that the block splines are correctly located.

6. Secure the flexible coupling with a new pinch bolt and nut.

7. Align the flexible coupling clamp plate over the steering column shaft and secure with a new bolt.

8. Reconnect the battery earth lead.
