Pump Assembly – Power steering – Remove and Install (Petrol) (13 434 0)

Transit 1995 (08/1994-07/2000)

Removal and Installation

Special Tools

13-015Sealing ring fitting tool

Remove

1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.

Belt – Power Steering – Pump Drive – Replace (13 424 0)

2. Remove the pump drive belt.

1. Rotate the belt tensioner in a clockwise direction.

2. Remove the belt and release the belt tensioner.

3. Disconnect and remove the pipe and hose from the power steering pump.

1. Remove the pipe clamp bolt.

2. Remove the high pressure pipe.

3. Remove the low pressure hose.

• Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

4. Remove the power steering pump pulley.

1. Hold the centre of the pulley with an Allen key.

2. Remove the three bolts.

5. Remove the power steering pump.

Install

6. Refit the power steering pump.

Refit the three front bolts first.

7. Replace the union sealing rings.

1. Push the sealing ring onto the tool.

2. Locate the tool on the union and push on the sealing ring.

8. Refit the power steering pump pulley.

1. Hold the centre of the pulley with an Allen key.

2. Refit the three bolts.

9. Reconnect the pipe and hose to the power steering pump.

1. Refit the low pressure hose.

2. Refit the pipe clamp bolt.

3. Refit the high pressure pipe.

Belt – Power Steering – Pump Drive – Replace (13 424 0)

10. Refit the pump drive belt.

11. Reconnect the battery earth lead.

12. Bleed the power steering system as described in Operation No. 13 416 1.
