Removal and Installation
Remove

1. Where fitted, remove the two stabiliser bar retaining bolts.

2. Remove the steering gear.

3. Remove the front bracket and lower arm assemblies.
1. Remove the front bracket to crossmember bolts.
2. Remove the rear lower arm to crossmember through bolts and nuts.

4. Remove the bump stops.
Install
5. Refit the bump stops.
• Apply a soap solution to the bump stops and the locating pegs to aid refitting.
• The bump stops are correctly fitted when they can rotate freely on the locating pegs.

6. Refit the front bracket and lower arm assemblies.
1. Refit the front bracket to crossmember bolts.
2. Refit the rear lower arm to crossmember through bolts from the rear ensuring they do not go through to the front of the crossmember.
• Do not tighten at this stage.

CAUTION:

The through bolts should be tightened when the suspension is refitted and with the vehicle on the ground.

7. Align and refit the front bracket and lower arm assemblies.
1. Check the dimensions from the centre of the through bolt holes in the front of the crossmember to the opposite front bracket bolt holes, (913 ± 1 mm), and adjust as necessary.
2. Tighten the front bracket to crossmember bolts.
3. Recheck the above dimensions and, as a final check, measure the distance between the front brackets.
4. Push the through bolts into the front crossmember and refit and tighten the nuts.

8. Refit the steering gear.
   Ensure that the retaining bolts are fitted from the underside of the crossmember.

CAUTION:

Ensure that the stabiliser bar locating collars are inboard of the rubber insulators and that the split line faces rearward.

9. Where fitted, refit the two stabiliser bar retaining bolts.
