Alternator Assembly (Diesel) (97¾ MY onwards) - Remove And Install (31 414 0)

Removal and Installation

Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

1. Release the tension of the drive belt.

Loosen the bolts as indicated.

2. Locally detach the alternator drive belt.

3. Disconnect the alternator electrical cables.

4. Disconnect the oil and vacuum hoses.

5. Remove the alternator.

1. Position the fan.

2. Partially remove the bolt to clear the alternator.

3. Remove the alternator.

6. Remove the vacuum pump.

Install

7. Fit a new seal.

8. Refit the components in the reverse order.

9. Tension the alternator drive belt.

Dimension A = 4mm.
