Alternator Assembly (Diesel) (Up to 97½MY) - Remove And Install (31 414 0)

Removal and Installation

Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

1. Release the tension of the drive belt.

Loosen the bolts as indicated.

2. Remove the power steering and air conditioning belt if fitted.

3. Remove the drive belt.

Carefully feed the drive belt between the cooling fan and the radiator shroud.

4. Disconnect the alternator electrical cables.

• Lift cover to access the cables.

5. Disconnect the oil and vacuum hoses.

6. Remove the alternator.

7. Remove the vacuum pump.

Install

8. Refit the components in the reverse order.

9. Tension the alternator drive belt.

Dimension A = 4mm.
