Vehicle Speed Sensor - Remove And Install (33 654 0)

Transit 1995 (08/1994-07/2000)

Removal and Installation

Remove

CAUTION:

Disconnect the battery negative lead.

1. Raise the vehicle.

2. Place a drain tray under the vehicle speed sensor to collect any escaping transmission fluid.

Vehicles with gear driven sensor

3. Disconnect the multiplug.

1. Pull out the locking pin.

2. Twist the locking ring anticlockwise to remove the multiplug.

NOTE:

Watch out for escaping transmission fluid.

4. Remove the sender unit.

1. Unscrew the retaining bolt and remove the clamp.

2. Pull out the sensor unit and remove.

Vehicles with electronic sensor

NOTE:

Watch out for escaping transmission fluid.

5. Remove the vehicle speed sensor.

1. Disconnect the multiplug.

2. Remove the sensor.

Install

All vehicles

6. Refit the components in the reverse order.

Top up the transmission fluid if necessary.
