Description and Operation
Front Seats
Transit '95 front seats are of the anti‐submarine design as part of the overall safety package fitted to this vehicle.
High series drivers seats feature either four or six‐way adjustment, low series seats are two‐way. Drivers seats are electrically heated and incorporate an adjustable lumbar support and hand pump.
Passenger seats are of single or bench, fixed or tipping design. On vehicles fitted with tipping front seats, access to the rear of the vehicle can be gained by tipping the seat forwards.
Rear Seats
8/9 seat Bus variants are fitted with a fold fold rear seat allowing the floorspace to be increased at the rear of the vehicle if the seat is in the folded position.
From '96 MY the 12 and 15 seat bus variants are equipped with three point lap and diagonal seat belts, some of which are mounted directly onto the seat frame with the webbing runs consented within the seat.
From 97½ MY the 17 seat bus variants are equipped with unique seat frames to accommodate a fully adjustable three point lap and diagonal seat belt, which can be adjusted to accommodate children or adults. The complete seat belt assembly is packaged within the seat assembly, and each seat is bolted directly to the chassis.
