Removal and Installation
Remove
1. Disconnect the battery earth lead.

2. Disconnect the tailgate wiring harness connectors.
   Two multiplugs.

3. Disconnect the rear window washer pipe (if fitted).
4. Support the tailgate in a fully opened position.

WARNING:

Ensure the support method for the tailgate is secure. The tailgate assembly is very heavy when not supported by the gas dampers.
5. Disconnect the two tailgate dampers.
   Remove the spring clip from the D‐Pillar joint and pull off the dampers.

6. Remove the tailgate.
   Two hinge retaining bolts.
Install
7. Refit the components in reverse order.
