Owner Notification Program 00M09
Concurrent with the launch of these new Ford Remanufactured engines, Ford Motor Company is offering extended coverage on 1994 and 1995 FWD
application 3.8L engines that experience premature failure of the head gasket, under Owner Notification Program 00M09. Effective March 20, 2000,
these new Ford Remanufactured engines will be the only approved FWD engine replacements under Owner Notification Program 00M09.
Some typical 6006 engine content, including oil pans, front covers and rocker covers, will not be included at launch. Ford intends to phase in content via
running changes to the Bill of Material. The supplier will be incorporating additional content as it becomes available.
FCSD is Anticipating Potential Shortages
Due to the volume of owners affected by this program, FCSD is anticipating potential shortages of 3.8L Ford Remanufactured engines. As result of this
potential shortfall, initial FAD orders will be allocated based on production capacity, and, when supplies are short, on an individual emergency basis.
If contacted by dealers ordering 3.8L Ford Remanufactured engines and you cannot immediately fill the order from stock, consult DOES II Remarks
screens for availability information. If the order cannot be filled within a reasonable amount of time (5 days), direct the dealer to contact his FCSD CSM
for further instructions.
