LIGHT TRUCK:

ISSUE:
Some vehicles may show a false illumination of the dome lamp and "Door Ajar" warning lamp, or false door chime, or anti-theft activation. This is due
to internal materials in the sliding door contact terminal assembly.
ACTION:
Replace the contact terminal assembly. Refer to the following procedures for service details.
REMOVAL PROCEDURE FOR CENTER BODY PILLAR (B-PILLAR), FIGURE 1
NOTE:
PLEASE REFER TO THE WINDSTAR SERVICE MANUAL, SECTION 01, FOR THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURES.
1.

Refer to Section 01-05: Garnish Moulding, Body Side.
2.
Remove weatherstripping seal.
3.
Insert a rag into the RH center body pillar cavity carefully to catch any failing debris.
4.
Using a suitable punch, hammer out the center of the rivets securing the door ajar/sliding door switch contact plate.
5.
Using a suitable drill, drill out the rivets. Disconnect and remove/discard contact plate.
