Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Front
REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire.
2. Remove and discard front axle retainer nut.
3. Remove front brake rotor, then remove rotor shield.
4. Disconnect steering knuckle from ball joint and tie rod.
5. Loosen but do not remove front strut assembly top mounting nuts.
Front Hub Removal
6. Using front hub installer, tool No. T81P-0004-A, with hub remover/replacer, tool No. T81P-0004-C, metric hub remover adapters, tool No.
T83P-0004-BH1 and a two stud adapter, tool No. T86P-1004-A1 or equivalents, push front axle from hub.
7. Support front knuckle, then remove bolt retaining knuckle to strut.
8. Remove knuckle from vehicle, then place knuckle assembly on a suitable workbench.
