Measure the front and rear alignment, referring to the two (2) 1995-96 Optimum Windstar Alignment Service Specifications Charts:
NOTE:
REAR ALIGNMENT IS NOT ADJUSTABLE. IF THE READINGS ARE OUT OF THE SPECIFIED RANGES, THEN EITHER THE BODY
STRUCTURE IS MISALIGNED, OR THE AXLES OR SPINDLES ARE BENT. THE VEHICLE SHOULD FIRST HAVE THE BODY
STRUCTURE AND SUBFRAME EVALUATED BY A QUALIFIED BODY/FRAME SHOP, THEN REPLACE THE AXLE AND RECHECK
YOUR ALIGNMENT READINGS. IF STILL OUT OF SPECIFICATION, REPLACE THE SPINDLE.

If needed, adjust the front toe setting, as directed by the 1996 Windstar Service Manual, Pages 04-00-10 through 04-00-19. At the same time
adjust steering wheel clear vision (Figure 4) by referring to the specification in the "A Right Drift Or Pull On 1995-96 Windstar" Chart found
within the following Step 5.

Next, check the front caster and camber readings. If the measurements are out of specification, then make adjustments as directed by the 1996
Windstar Service Manual, Page 04-00-16.
NOTE:
1 mm OF ALIGNMENT PLATE MOVEMENT CORRESPONDS TO APPROXIMATELY A 0.1 DEGREE CHANGE IN ALIGNMENT ANGLE.
INBOARD/OUTBOARD MOVEMENT OF THE PLATE AFFECTS CAMBER, FORE/AFT MOVEMENT AFFECTS CASTER. USE ONLY
HIGH STRENGTH RIVETS WHEN RE-ATTACHING THE ALIGNMENT PLATE.
When adjusting the alignment to service a drift or pull condition, it is useful to adjust to favorable settings by referring to the specification in the above
1995-96 Optimum Windstar Alignment Service Specifications, Front Wheels, Chart.
To correct a drift/pull to the right condition, refer to the "A Right Drift Or Pull On 1995-96 Windstar" Chart:
NOTE:
WHEN ADJUSTING CASTER OR CAMBER SETTINGS TO ACHIEVE THE SUGGESTED READINGS, DO NOT ADJUST BEYOND THE
RANGE SPECIFIED IN THE 1995-96 OPTIMUM WINDSTAR ALIGNMENT SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS CHART WITHIN THIS TSB
ARTICLE.
It may help to offset the clear vision position of the steering wheel to the left, up to 30 counterclockwise of center.
