Idle Air Control Valve: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control

2. Disconnect the idle air control valve connector from the engine control sensor wiring.
3. Remove the two idle air control valve retaining screws.
4. Remove the idle air control valve and gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean idle air control valve gasket mating surfaces.
NOTE: If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage idle air control valve or throttle body idle air control valve gasket surfaces, or drop
material into throttle body or idle air control valve.
2. To install idle air control valve, reverse removal procedure.
3. Tighten retaining screws to 8.0-11.5 Nm (71-101 lb in).
4. Connect battery ground cable.
