Throttle Body: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Remove throttle body air intake tube from throttle body.

2. Disconnect accelerator cable.

3. Disconnect fuel charging wiring connectors from throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.

4. Remove four throttle body retaining nuts.

5. Remove and discard throttle body gasket between throttle body and upper intake manifold.

INSTALLATION 

1. Clean mating surfaces.

NOTE:  If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage O-ring surfaces or allow material to drop into intake manifold.

2. Install throttle body with new throttle body gasket on the four studs of the upper intake manifold. Tighten retaining nuts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft lb).

3. Connect fuel charging wiring connectors to the throttle position sensor and idle air control valve.

4. Install accelerator cable.

5. Install throttle body air intake tube.
